The University of Michigan (U-M) and Michigan State University (MSU) collaborate to offer professional development workshops for K-12 teachers. These workshops bring together educators, faculty, and practitioners to explore global themes through media such as children’s literature, graphic novels, and other primary resources. Participants gain content knowledge, classroom strategies, and ready-to-use materials to help connect local and global perspectives in their teaching.
These workshops are organized through a collaboration between U-M’s East Asia National Resource Center, the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies, and the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, and MSU’s African Studies Center, Asian Studies Center, and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
