About
Professor Cheney-Lippold teaches and writes on the impact of digital media on our social and political lives. He is also the author of We Are Data: Algorithms and the Making of our Digital Selves (NYU Press, 2017).
He is currently finishing a book project, Ex Ante: A Theory of the Future, about machine learning algorithms that construct streams of datafied, real-time futurity. Parts of this research on chess engines and Silicon Valley futurism have already been published in article form.
