About
Shon Harris is a Senior at the University of Michigan studying International & Comparative Studies: International Security, Norms & Co-operation, and Middle East and North African Studies. He is interested in coupling his undergraduate studies with a Dual Masters Degree program at the Ross School of Business and the School for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan after graduating in May of 2021. He hopes to focus on nonprofit management, consulting, water conservation, and water security during graduate studies. Shon loves empowering people with disadvantaged backgrounds by giving people who ask resume and cover letter consultations and by merely being a resource for advice, academic or not. Similarly, that is one of the reasons that he strongly approves of UROP. It is a program that empowers students with mentorship and access to research projects at a tier-one research university to help students pursue the research of their dreams and gain significant work experience. He also loves how UROP helps students build meaningful community and nurture students to become global citizens with passion and integrity as an undergraduate student before seeking a job, career, or graduate school education post-graduation. Furthermore, he attended Lansing Community College (LCC) for three years before transferring to Michigan State University (MSU), where he then transferred to the University of Michigan. He loves UMICH, but no disrespect to LCC or MSU. In his free time, Shon likes to read, study, and ponder ways to position himself to assist better his community and people across the world.
