About
Hi! I'm Diamond, a senior studying Biology, Health, & Society (BHS) with an entrepreneurship minor on a pre-med track. After undergrad, I plan to pursue a Master's degree before medical school matriculation. I am extremely interested in surgery, specifically urological oncology. I have shadowed a urological oncologist since my freshman year and fell in love with the speciality. During my sophomore year, I joined UROP and fell in love. Every PF, staff, and research mentor I met was full of energy and determination for me to have a great research experience. Although I am not with the same lab, I am currently doing research within the School of Public health on diabetes management! The skills I learned from my first lab with UROP definitely helped me land the job because of the hands-on experience I received through running participants and using several databases. On campus I am co-president of AMWA, a women’s pre-health organization, and NAACP as their health advocate chair. If you’re ever looking for me, my favorite study spots are Taubman and Palmer Commons. Outside of school, I try to travel as much as possible, but mostly internationally. My goal is to visit all 7 continents by 25 years old and I am currently 3 out of 7. So far, my favorite countries I’ve visited are Germany and Malaysia. My next stop is tentatively Australia for Summer 2021. When I am not traveling, I enjoy baking, cooking, and catching a great deal. Currently, my loaded baked potato soup might send Panera out of business.
