About
Hello, my name is Daeho Kim, and I'm a senior studying Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. I hope to get into medical school sometime after graduation, but I'd also like to take some time to explore and think about what I want to accomplish in the field.
I grew up in South Korea, lived there for 10 years, and moved to the US in 2010. I've been living in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area since then. I like watching and playing basketball (hoping to go to more Pistons games too), playing the drums, and learning the bass guitar. I like to hang out with friends and family (dad, mom, and 2 younger brothers) and enjoy eating good food. I also like to listen to a wide range of music.
I've been involved in UROP in many different ways. I participated in the traditional UROP my freshman year and enjoyed learning how research works, the hands-on experience, and being able to see what I learned in-class outside of class, etc. I then worked as a UROP peer facilitator my junior year (and continuing this year because I really liked UROP's close-knit community). I also conducted an intensive research this summer through UROP's Biomedical and Life Sciences Summer Fellowship. UROP is now one of my top priorities.
On top of UROP, I'm a member of the Michigan Health Aid, a volunteer at Michigan Medicine and Heartland Hospice Care, a research/lab assistant at the Cancer Center, and a member of Korean Church of Ann Arbor!
