About
Hey! My name is Alex. I am currently a junior studying business administration, and I plan to graduate in the spring of 2022. I spent my adolescence in Metro Detroit ー always in close proximity to the city of Detroit, itself. From an early age, I found myself enjoying outdoor activities, such as running, playing soccer, and hiking. I hold both the city of Detroit and Ann Arbor close to my heart. In Ann Arbor, I enjoy visiting the various nature parks and outdoor views around the city. I also frequent many of the great restaurants in downtown Ann Arbor and on campus.
Aside from commitments related to my well-being, course work, intramural sports, and social life, I am most involved with Detroit Revitalization & Business Initiative, a club composed of undergraduate and graduate students. Our aim is to provide hands-on business resources to Detroit start-ups and non-profits while also mentoring Detroit high schoolers.
Since coming to the University of Michigan, I have been interested in learning about topics both in and outside of my major. My freshman year, I anticipated taking psychology and business courses while simultaneously doing research, through UROP, that was directly linked to my educational and career goals. I am grateful for all that UROP continues to give to me as a U of M student. Entering as a Peer Facilitator will allow me to further develop my leadership and mentorship skills while I instruct and guide students to utilize the extremely valuable resources at their disposal. I am pursuing an entrepreneurship minor, and I hope to use my abilities to create lasting change in the world. I hope to learn alongside my UROP team and the students I mentor.
