Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program
About
I started UROP my sophomore year with a project in the social science discipline and really enjoyed my time there. I built amazing connections with my lab members and PI that were strengthened by UROP. My experience in UROP during the school year led me to participate in UROP’s Biomedical and Life Science program that summer, which was a remarkable learning opportunity, allowing me to work full-time on a project that interests me. It was a life science research project that allowed me to work with live rats after previously working with parents and their children in my previous research project. I presented at both the spring and summer symposiums of that year and began my role as a Health Science peer facilitator in the fall and I loved sharing my experiences with new researchers as I felt like UROP really aided in shaping my future goals and giving me such valuable research and mentorship experiences.
