About
Hi! My name is Myles, and I am a Cognitive Science major/Linguistics minor graduating in 2024. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois before coming to Michigan to study through the Posse Scholar program. I joined UROP as a freshman and had an amazing experience in the Boland lab that motivated me to starting taking Linguistics courses. Over time, I have found nice ways to combine my interests in Cogsci and Linguistics to study things like African American English and code-switching.
Outside of academics, my interests include powerlifting and many kinds of games! A lot of my free time is spent exercising or trying new video/board/tabletop games with my friends from Michigan and from back home. I am also involved with Michigan Esports and the Cognitive Science Community clubs here.
After graduating in 2024, I plan to enroll in graduate studies toward a PhD in Psychology. With this education I hope to do research on stress, language, and human factors in order to facilitate positive human experience
