About
Hi! My name is Kush Amin, and I am a rising Senior majoring in Neuroscience. I plan on graduating in the spring of 2024, followed by applying to medical school as I hope to become a physician. I was born in Canada and spent part of my childhood there before moving to Canton, Michigan. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, working out, playing tennis, kayaking, and watching movies. After joining UROP my sophomore year, I have learnt so much about research, networking, teaching, and professional skills. UROP has made me passionate about getting involved in my Umich community and leaving an impact on my peers and mentees. I love that UROP creates a great opportunity to help bright, young individuals find research that they will love and stay a part of for years to come. Not only this, but it helps build fundamental skills that will inevitably be important no matter what career you choose to pursue. On campus I am a part of various other clubs and organizations including OEC, Wolverine Tutors, MMHI, University Blood Initiative, and the Science Learning Center. I spend a lot of my time doing research at the cardiovascular center at the University of Michigan with Dr. Bo Yang, as well as volunteering at the veterans hospital. As you roam around campus you might catch me at Frida Batidos or UniTea, and don’t be shy to say hello and have a quick chat!
