About
Hello everyone! My name is Emily, and I am a senior studying biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience as well as gender & health. I plan to graduate in May 2024 and attend medical school following this. I hope to specialize in a women's health field and provide comprehensive, culturally sensitive care as a physician. I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, but I left the state of the Buckeyes in 2020, and I have loved my time at University of Michigan. As an undergraduate student, I have had some amazing opportunities, such as writing a literature review on the impact of DEI on Black women's experience in STEM, working in a lab studying ovarian cancer, tutoring organic chemistry, serving as a volunteer and co-coordinator in the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center, and best of all, serving as a UROP peer facilitator. UROP connected me with my research lab freshman year, connected me with my current research lab, and allowed me to serve as a peer facilitator both last year and this year -- and I have loved every second of it! I am really excited to once again serve as a Life Science peer facilitator and work with students to achieve all the research goals they can dream of! I am grateful to have found a home within UROP, and I am excited to wrap up my time at Michigan in this role.
