About
Hi everyone! My name is Yuli, and I'm a rising sophomore at the University of Michigan, studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. I'm also interested in going to law school after graduation. I grew up in Mexico and Texas, and I've always been fascinated by how things work. I love to learn new things, and I'm always looking for new challenges. I'm also very passionate about social justice and making a difference in the world. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, and spending time with my friends and family. I'm also trying to learn how to crochet, and I love watching movies. I'm really excited to be a part of UROP this year, and I'm looking forward to learning more about research and working with other students who are passionate about STEM. In the future, I hope to travel the world and learn about different cultures. I'm excited to see what the future holds, and I'm grateful for all the opportunities that I've been given. I'm a member of the First-Generation Engineering (FGE) board, and I'm passionate about helping other first-gen students succeed. I'm also a member of the Michigan American Society of Mechanical Engineers (MASA), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and the M-STEM Council. I love to explore campus, and my favorite places to study are the libraries. I also like to walk around Northwood at night. I'm always looking for new challenges and opportunities, so if you have any questions or want to connect, please feel free to reach out to me!
