About
As a Junior studying Women’s and Gender Studies, on a Pre-Medicine Track, I am extremely excited to be a part of the Peer Facilitators Staff for the 2023-24 academic year! I was in UROP my Freshman year and absolutely loved the program and everything it stands for. Through UROP I got the opportunity to be a research assistant in a lab diving into “Post-Abortion Care Methods in Developing Countries'' under the mentorship of Dr. Maffioli from the Department of Public Health from which we were able to get big policy makers to change their priorities and become more involved in making important changes in their policies. I was amazed to see my own work making impactful changes to the world as we know it! I grew as a researcher and eventually wanted to give back to the future students eager to be a part of UROP. On our beautiful Umich campus, I continue to pursue my passion of Indian Classical dance and singing as I am a part of “Michigan Sahana”; a classical dance and music group. I am also involved in the South Asian American Association where I can specify my medical research interests and find new initiatives to be involved in. I also love game days, my long walks through the diag, the arb river area, and Comet Coffee in Nickel’s Arcade. When i'm not on campus studying, I also enjoy modeling for many different brands and fashion weeks. Thankfully, I also am able to travel frequently back to my hometown of West Bloomfield, Michigan to visit my family. After I graduate in 2025 I hope to take my gap year and then go to Medical School. After Med school I hope to use my medical knowledge to travel to developing countries, set up health campaigns and learn more about healthcare systems that are often overlooked.
