Student Administrative Assistant Associate
About
I am originally from Cali, Colombia. I moved to Ann Arbor in the year 2001 when I was 15 years old and attended Pioneer High School. After graduating from Pioneer High School, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Community Action and Social Change from the University of Michigan. During my sophomore year, I joined UROP. When I joined UROP, I not only learned about how to do research but I had the opportunity to develop great strong relationships with my mentor, research assistants and peer facilitator. My mentor was a very influential person during this time of my career. I have always been very passionate for learning about different cultures and understanding how we live in connection to one another. I enjoy work that benefits the community, where I have the opportunity to connect, develop relationships and create a safe space for everyone.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my children (Daniela, Abraham & Evan), and my husband (Mo). We love to stay active by playing sports (especially soccer) and going out for walks. We watch a lot of soccer games. Our favorite soccer team is France! I also love to travel! Some awesome places I've been to include East Africa (Tanzania and Kenya), The Middle East (Jordan), Cancun (Mexico), Canada and lots of different states in the USA (Puerto Rico too)!
