Field Notes: Living and Learning at U-M Biological Station

For more than a century, the University of Michigan has maintained a residential research station on Douglas Lake near Pellston, Michigan. Students and faculty live there for weeks at a time taking classes and pursuing research projects based in the ecosystems around the station. Learn about two recent classes and how they offer real research experience both in and out of the lab, leaving a lasting impact on the students who participate and igniting interest in new subjects and career paths.

Our Student Showcase features research projects by U-M undergraduate and graduate students working in a variety of disciplines.
