How to Schedule
Schedule an onsite program by emailinh ummnh.office@umich.edu or by calling 734-764-0480 (weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Space is limited, and we recommend requesting a reservation at least two months in advance.
We will need the following information:
- Several possible dates and times for your visit
- Number of children, chaperones, and teachers
- Activities you would like to schedule
- School address and phone number
- Transportation method
We highly recommend at least one chaperone for every 10 students. We require chaperones to remain with the group for the duration of the visit.
Teachers are FREE.

Group Admission
$3 per person
Please call to schedule groups of 10 or more people. Price includes group host, self-guided visits to all galleries, and hands-on discovery stations in select galleries.
Guided Program Add-Ons
Add-ons must be scheduled in advance and require a minimum of 10 or more participants. All fees listed are per person.
- Investigate Lab Workshops
$8 – 45 minutes
- Science Demonstrations
$3 – 20–30 minutes
- Early Childhood Programs
$5 – 30 minutes
- Early Childhood Planetarium Experience
$3 – 30 minutes
- Planetarium Show
$5 – 45 minutes
- Lunchroom
$30 – 25 minutes per side for 30 people
(ask about availability)
Payment
- Payment is due in full at least two weeks prior to your field trip.
- We reserve the right to cancel services for any program for which payment is not remitted two weeks prior to the scheduled program.
- We accept exact cash, check, or card. One payment should be submitted for the full group.
- Refunds will not be given for overpayments of $25 or less.
Scholarships
If 40% or more of the students at your school receive free or reduced lunch, your group may qualify for up to 50% off the cost of your activities at the museum, provided that scholarship funds are available. Applications can be emailed to ummnh.office@umich.edu or faxed to 734-647-2767.
