                In partnership with the Department Chair, the Chief Administrator oversees all administrative functions for the Department (as well as for the Center for the Study of Complex Systems). Core responsibilities include managing departmental finances, stewardship of gifts, HR and appointment oversight, policy interpretation, and resource allocation. The Chief Administrator supervises and supports a team of staff who provide administrative, financial, facility, event, public relations, and instructional support.
Serving as the primary administrative liaison, the Chief Administrator coordinates with the College of LSA, Shared Services, Technology Services, and other university units. Additional duties include strategic planning, ensuring operational integrity, and facilitating effective communication between the department and university administration.
