Carly Bauman, who is pursuing a master's degree in MCDB, while continuing her award-winning career as a U-M gymnast, has added a new accolade. On April 9, she was named the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Northeast Regional Gymnast of the Year. She is the top-ranked gymnast in the Northeast region in all three of her events as she leads the region on the bars with a National Qualifying Score of 9.990, ranks first in the region on the beam with an NQS of 9.895 and is first on floor exercise with an NQS of 9.915. She was the co-regional champion on the uneven bars with a 9.950.
Earlier this spring, she was named to the All-Big Ten Women's Gymnastics first tteam. Bauman earned her third Big Ten Conference nod as she was a second-team honoree in 2023 and a first-team honoree in both 2024 and 2025.
The West Des Moines, Iowa, native earned her bachelor's degree at U-M in Biology, Health and Science.
