MCDB undergraduate Taylor Nye was selected for a poster award at the 2014 Molecular Genetics of Bacteria and Phages Conference, held in August in Madison, Wisconsin. Taylor was the only undergraduate selected for a poster award this year. Her research has identified a novel base modification in the Bacillus subtilis genome and the enzyme responsible for catalyzing the methylation modification.  She is part of MCDB Associate Professor Lyle Simmon's lab.
