Matthew Handelman is associate professor of German at Michigan State University, where he is also Core Faculty in Digital Humanities and Affiliated Faculty in the Michael and Elaine Serling Institute for Jewish Studies and Modern Israel. With Shachar Pinsker (UM) and Naomi Brenner (OSU), he co-directs the digital project, "Below the Line: The Feuilleton and Modern Jewish Cultures." His first book, The Mathematical Imagination: On the Origins and Promise of Critical Theory, appeared in 2019 with Fordham University Press.
