The Judaic Studies advisors give practical assistance navigating the Graduate Certificate requirements. Judaic Studies Graduate Certificate students are required to communicate yearly with the Judaic Studies Student Services Coordinator to navigate the Certificate requirements, discuss progress and answer any questions. Students are encouraged to meet as often as they wish with the Faculty Advisor for advice on meeting program requirements and on broader issues of intellectual and professional development.

The Rackham Graduate School's policy on the double-counting of credits only applies to those in Master's programs or students in doctoral programs seeking an embedded Master's before advancing toward the PhD. Double-counting rules do not apply to PhD students who do not seek an MA.

• Not more than 1/6 of the credits required for any given master's may be double-counted between a certificate and master's program (i.e., if the MA is 36 credits only 6 can be double-counted between units). Double-counted credits must not exceed one-half of the certificate credit hour requirement.
• Double-counting is not permitted if pursuing a dual master's degree. In this situation, all credits for the certificate must stand alone.
• Double-counting is not permitted between two certificate programs.
• No undergraduate courses may be double-counted toward the certificate credit hour requirement.

Non-Rackham degree programs may have separate rules regulating double-counting.

• Students generally finish the Graduate Certificate in Judaic Studies before completion of their primary degree. When you are ready to receive your Graduate Certificate from Judaic Studies and have it awarded on your transcript, you must apply for graduation for the Certificate separately in Wolverine Access.

• If a certificate student is in a Master's degree program or has received an embedded Master's along the way to their PhD, they must also complete a Dual/Joint Degree Election form. This form is used to verify that the double-counting rules have been followed. 

The Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) office serves as a campus-wide resource for students with visual impairments, learning disabilities, mobility impairments, or hearing impairments. SSD also works with students who have chronic health or mental health conditions. Examples of services that may be provided, free of charge by SSD, include accessible campus transportation, adaptive technology, sign language interpreting and guidance for course accomodations. If you think you need an accommodation for a disability, please let your instructor or an advisor know at your earliest convenience. Some aspects of courses, the assignments, the in-class activities, and the way the courses are usually taught may be modified to facilitate your participation and progress. As soon as you make them aware of your needs, they can work with SSD to help determine appropriate academic accommodations.
