Giving to Judaic Studies

When you contribute to the Judaic Studies Strategic Fund, you directly support the Frankel Center’s educational mission. Your contribution funds undergraduate educational experiences, including study abroad, immersive language study, field trips, and guest lectures in courses. You are also supporting the future generation of scholars in Jewish studies through our graduate student scholarships.

"Judaic Studies classes generate discussion, debate, and disagreement. They embrace diverse perspectives. They offer a living curriculum, one that stretches rather than remains stagnant. Judaic Studies professors and students share a passion for learning that cannot be overstated. Ultimately, these faculty furnish their students with a deeper understanding of the world around them and a lens from which they may approach their other studies and experiences." - Elizabeth Goldman, A.B. Class of 2023

In Judaic Studies, our faculty aim to meet students where they are and then encourage them to take their learning several steps further. We use methods developed in an array of fields—history, religion, law, literature, culture, political thought, and anthropology— to enrich our students’ understanding of Jewish societies across the globe. We also promote intergroup understanding and dialogue through courses that focus on topics such as “Jews as a Minority Group in Medieval Times,” “The Bible and the Quran,” and “Jews and Social Justice.” Frankel Center students learn both in the classroom and outside of it, through trips to museums, and libraries, as well as through study abroad and internship experiences.
