4th Floor Commons Modern Languages Building Map
This symposium celebrates the extraordinary intellectual legacy of Marsha Kinder, whose
pioneering scholarship transformed the study of Spanish cinema and opened new horizons for
Iberian cultural and media studies. Through her groundbreaking work on cinema, narrative,
spectatorship, and digital media, Kinder challenged disciplinary boundaries and inspired
generations of scholars to rethink the relationships among images, history, politics, and cultural
identities. Bringing together scholars, filmmakers, and students, this gathering honors not only
her remarkable contributions to the field but also her intellectual generosity, critical imagination,
and enduring commitment to creating communities of thought and dialogue.
