From September 2025 through April 2026, students in their first year of the Global Scholars Program worked in Collaborative Groups (CG) in partnership with NGOs around the world.

Each CG completed a Global Engagement Project designed by their partner organization and supported by the GSP instructional team. We were delighted to have been able to host this signature event back in our favorite space, Rackham Amphitheatre. GSP's Global Engagement Symposium acknowledges the important work our partner organizations are doing to address local and global social justice issues and the projects our students undertook to help advance their missions.

Michaela Minnis (UM '22) is a maternal and infant health policy advocate in Washington, DC, working at The Century Foundation to inform policy on women, infants, and families. Previously, she advocated for global children's programs at the American Academy of Pediatrics. Michaela graduated from U-M's Ford School of Public Policy and was an active student and student leader in GSP, which inspired her passion for advocacy and lifelong friendships.

Chloe Halprin (UM '22) completed majors in Spanish and English and a minor in Law, Justice, and Social Change. She taught English in Spain via NALCAP and was a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Mexico. Chloe later served as Grants Manager for a Michigan nonprofit supporting refugee families and now works at the Washington Office on Latin America cultivating institutional donors to advance human rights in the Americas.
