Professor Knute Nadelhoffer and Rev. Charles Morris are Detroit Free Press guest writers in the Opinion section of the Detroit Free Press, Sept. 23, 2015. Their article, entitled, “On climate change, listen to Pope Francis” begins, “As we await Pope Francis’ historic address to Congress on Thursday, one of the most anticipated themes will be the need to act on climate change. And we hope our nation’s leaders listen.”

EEB Professor and Chair Diarmaid Ó Foighil commented, “This is a remarkable example of effective outreach that works on multiple levels, highlighting not just the issue at hand (accumulation of greenhouse gases) and pragmatic steps to combat it, but also undermining the false paradigm that scientific and religious perspectives are inherently antagonistic.”

Nadelhoffer is a professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Michigan, director of the U-M Biological Station, and a board member of the Environmental Law and Policy Center of the Midwest.
