Intermittent Lecturer
About
April teaches CSP 105 Writing and Culture for Summer Bridge and is a lecturer in the Sweetland Center for Writing. She holds a BA in Writing, Social Change, and Latin American Studies; an MFA in Poetry; a PhD in English with a Rhetoric and Writing specialization; and a graduate certificate in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. At Michigan, her students nominated her for the BEN Prize for Outstanding Teaching of Writing in the English Department Writing Program (2019), and she was named an Honored Instructor by University Housing student staff in 2018 and 2019.
April likes to spend time with her family (including two old dogs, Paco and Lola) and friends; gravel bike; paint and draw; organize community zine events; and identify wild plants. This is her first time teaching in CSP, but she's had CSP students in her other writing courses and found them to be creative, kind, and funny.
