Himani Boompally is a Ph.D. Candidate in the joint History and Women’s and Gender Studies program. Their research focuses on the history of mental illness in Hyderabad, India from the mid-1800s to 1948. They are interested in studying the intersections of oppression and power in psychiatry and indigenous forms of medicine as they deal with mental illness.
