Graduate Certificate Student in Women's and Gender Studies
About
Jessica Bautista is a doctoral candidate in Educational Studies and is working towards graduate certificates in Women and Gender Studies and Science, Technology and Society. Her dissertation uses a feminist science studies lens to understand how early career elementary science teachers develop and enact visions of justice and equity in their science teaching. Jessica is also a student fellow with the Eileen Lappin Weiser Center for the Learning Sciences at UM where she has collaborated with community partners and local Detroit farmers to develop culturally-responsive agricultural curriculum materials. She is broadly interested in how people learn science in ways that support changemaking for a more just and sustainable world.
