Anisha Chopra, a Women’s and Gender Studies major, spent her summer as the art and photo intern at NBC News. One story she worked on was “‘Mom, are we OK?’ Children worry their families can’t afford food after Trump’s SNAP cuts.” It was a part of the Unaffordable America series that examines rising economic inequality in the U.S. and the policies driving it. Chopra accompanied award-winning journalist Elizabeth Chuck on several site visits to assess lived experience for the story.
You can see the article at NBC News (behind a paywall) and note the cover photo is Chopra’s. The story is also summarized in a press release by the Democratic Party.
