Elizabeth Cole

Professors Elizabeth (Liz) Cole and Patrick Grzanka have been announced as the incoming Co-Editors of the Journal of Social Issues (JSI) beginning in 2026.

Elizabeth Cole is University Diversity and Social Transformation Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies, Psychology, and Afroamerican & African Studies. She is also the Director of the National Center for Institutional Diversity.

Patrick Grzanka is University Diversity and Social Transformation Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Psychology.

JSI is the flagship journal of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues and has been published since 1945. Articles in the JSI cover social issues such as education, health, intergroup relations, politics, poverty, religion, technology, and the workplace. Each JSI issue addresses relevant theoretical, empirical, and policy considerations. Among academic journals, JSI is currently ranked #4 (of 69) in social issues and #5 (of 78) in social psychology, according to Journal Citation Reports.

The first issues under Professors Cole and Grzanka will be released in 2027 and they will publish through 2030.
