Cover of Signs Volume 49, Number 4 Summer 2024

Congratulations to Professors Lisa Harris, Sara McClelland, Ava Purkiss, Catherine Sanok, and Valerie Traub and former graduate students Emily Coccia, Cecilia Morales, and Eshe Sherley!

These Women’s and Gender Studies faculty members and former graduate students have published their article, “Ambivalence as a Feminist Project” in the Summer 2024 issue of Signs, a “Journal of Women in Culture and Society.” The article stems from the group’s Humanities Collaboratory project, which investigated how ambivalence offers a, “conceptual category that holds space for conflicting emotions, contending historical phenomena, and overlapping affective, ethical, and political commitments.” This work is newly relevant because ambivalence also offers a potential affective state for political coalition building in the coming years.
