Abigail Dumes, Associate Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies, was awarded the 2026 Individual Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education by the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.
The award recognizes faculty members who are exceptionally dedicated to the educational experiences of undergraduate students, and who demonstrate their dedication through achievements and innovations in their own and others’ classrooms and programs.
In her nomination materials, Professor Dumes is commended for her “record of innovative teaching excellence” and is described as an engaging, knowledgeable, and exemplary educator “whose teaching practices are ‘marked by excitement, empathy, and curiosity that foster strong rapport among students.’”
