Technology Services provides several security services to faculty, researchers, staff, and students.
The University of Michigan, inclusive of LSA, has legal, contractual, and ethical obligations to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its systems and data. This policy strikes a balance between protecting university systems and data, maintaining the open environment that enables faculty, staff, and students to excel, innovate, and collaborate across the world, and ensuring that U-M core missions and institutional priorities remain paramount.
LSA Technology Services security experts help implement U-M security policies & processes locally, and develop LSA specific security policies and educational campaigns. Below are a list of the relevant U-M and LSA security policies.
SPG 601.27 is the primary U-M security policies and state how the U-M will establish, maintain, enforce, and educate on cybersecurity. It clearly states shared responsibilities for securing hardware, software, and data. The related Information Security Standards focus on categories of IT security listed below.
