LJSC Submajor Requirements
Students have the option of adding a submajor in Law, Justice, and Social Change to their Sociology major. Courses in the LJSC submajor offer students a coherent curriculum that emphasizes the relationship between legal institutions, inequality, and the capacity of social groups to produce fundamental social change.
Elective Credits
As a part of the major elective credits, students must complete at least 12 credit hours with a C- or better from the following list of approved courses.
- A minimum of 8 credits of which must be elected in the LJSC submajor at the 300-level or above

Policies & Credit Limits
A maximum of 6 credits in the major may come from SOC 394 SURO, SOC 395, and SOC 396.
Students majoring in Sociology with a submajor in Law, Justice, and Social Change are not permitted to elect a minor in Crime & Justice or History of Law and Policy.
