Michigan Sociology Again Ranked Amongst the Top U.S. Graduate Programs
The University of Michigan Sociology Department continues to be recognized for its academic strength nationally in the latest rankings of graduate programs by U.S. News & World Report.
The Sociology Department maintained its top five ranking of sociology graduate programs, tying for #4. In addition to the main program rankings. U-M was ranked highly in several specialties:
- #7 in Economic Sociology
- #3 in Historical Sociology
- #5 in Sex and Gender
- #3 in Social Stratification
- #1 in Sociology of Population
While we recognize the inherent challenges of such rankings, we are gratified that our department's excellence continues to be recognized in a wide range of areas.
