With their advisors, UM Graduate Students Camilo Leslie and Yan Long have received prestigious NSF Sociology Doctoral Dissertation Grants.

Camilo Leslie will use his grant to work on his dissertation project titled "Untangling the Knotted Roots of Trust: A Comparison of U.S. and Venezuelan Investors in the Stanford Financial Fraud."  His one-year project starts in August 2011 and is for $10,000.  Leslie's advisor is Professor George Steinmetz.

Yan Long will use her grant to work on her dissertation project titled "Constructing Political Actorhood: The Emergence and Transformation of the AIDS Movement in China, 1989-2009."  Her one-year project starts in August 2011 and is for $9,650.  Long's advisor is Professor Elizabeth Armstrong.
