Recent doctoral recipient Baris Buyukokutan (PhD 2010) has had his paper "Toward a Theory of Cultural Appropriation:  Buddhism, Vietnam War, and the Field of U.S. Poetry" accepted for publication in a forthcoming edition of the American Sociological Review.  This paper is based on a chapter from his Michigan dissertation.

Dr. Buyukokutan is currently Assistant Professor at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
