Save the date! Giving Blueday is on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
Giving Blueday is an opportunity to call on our community to give to various initiatives. Last year, you showed your amazing love and support to the Political Science undergraduate students by nearly doubling our goal!
To continue the tradition of giving, any donations made to the Political Science Strategic Fund on March 19 will go toward the Academic Experience Funding Program. This program helps our undergraduate students pursue academic experiences that advance their understanding of political science beyond the traditional classroom.
Last year’s support was able to help many students’ academic journey. Read about this student’s experience with the program:
I came to U-M as a transfer student. I chose the political science major because I wish to explore the political dynamics within authoritarian states and better understand civil resistance under autocracy.
In the summer of 2024, I participated in the Summer Research Program organized by the HKU Graduate School with the support of the Academic Experience Funding Program, which is a 10-week intensive research program that combines one-on-one mentor-supervised research with extensive training in research skills. Due to my hard work, I was awarded the Outstanding Completion Award and received a conditional offer for the HKU Presidential Scholarship for [Emory University's] PhD Studies by the end of the program.
I would like to sincerely express my gratitude to the donors of the Academic Experience Funding Program for your generous support and donation. Your generosity has allowed me to conduct intensive academic research without being worried about financial issues, and more importantly, your donation has made it possible for a first-generation and international student like myself to see the bigger world.
