There are dozens of funding opportunities throughout the university that support students’ interest to complete research or study abroad. The scholarships below often appeal to PitE students.
LSA Scholarships: The College of Literature, Science and the Arts (LSA) has scholarships available for prospective, current and transfer students to LSA.
LSA Department Scholarships: Many LSA department offer funding for study or research, or acknowledge student with achievements awards.
LSA Global Experience Scholarship Program: The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) is committed to provide financial support to students with demonstrated financial need who are participating in international programs through the University of Michigan.
Office of Financial Aid: This site has information about applying for scholarships, grants, work-study, and financial aid, and serves students from all schools and colleges at U-M.
Funding for Study and Work Abroad
- The International Institute provides generous support to undergraduate students for internships, research, and study overseas.
- The Program in International and Comparative Studies (PICS) supports University of Michigan undergraduate students who study, intern, or conduct research abroad.
- The U-M International Center Education Abroad Office provides information about options for studying, working, or traveling abroad to students and other members of the U-M community.
- The Weiser Center for Europe & Eurasia in the International Institute supports faculty and student research, teaching, collaboration, and public engagement in studying the institutions, cultures, and histories of these regions.
- The Center for Southeast Asian Studies at the International Institute is one of the oldest centers in the U.S. devoted to the Southeast Asian region, and seeks to promote a broader and deeper understanding of Southeast Asia, its people, histories, practices, and languages.
The Planet Blue Student Innovation Fund (PBSIF): PBSIF offers grants of up to $50,000 annually for ambitious, student-initiated projects that reduce the university’s environmental footprint and/or promote a culture of sustainability on campus.
