What is an Internship?

An internship is a short-term, entry-level work experience offered by an organization. Internships can range anywhere from 10 - 40 hours per week and can last anywhere from 4 - 12 weeks. 

Internships provide important opportunities to: 

  1. Discover if a career field is a good fit for you 
  2. Gain skills applicable to your future career
  3. Engage in projects that you can talk about on resumes, cover letters, and interviews
  4. Build connections with people who can serve as mentors for working in their fields

Gain Credit for Your Internship

Your internship can count for your practical experience requirement if you register for Environ 398 and participate in the MILE program.
