Sydney Owada Welk (she/her) is a doctoral candidate in English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan, where she has taught first year writing sequences, served as an Honors Program academic advisor (and ballet instructor), and developed graduate mentorship programs. Influenced by her background in dance, Sydney researches movement, female embodiment, and nonverbal communication in late Middle English romances and dramas. Her work has appeared in Notes & Queries and Medieval Perspectives.
