About
Bethany Donovan is a doctoral candidate in the Department of History whose research focuses on the material culture of late-medieval Britain. She is interested in exploring the history of consumption and understanding how people's relationships with objects changed over the course of the later Middle Ages. Her dissertation, “By which roguery and falsehood the people are deceived”: Falsity, Fraud, and Material Culture in Late Medieval England, 1275-1527, examines conceptions of false work and regulations against counterfeit goods in London.
