Zohaib serves as a Transfer Student Recruiting Coordinator on the LSA Student Recruitment team. He supports both prospective and admitted LSA transfer students in pursuing a world-class liberal arts education and thoughtfully informs them about the plethora of resources and opportunities that are available to them. As a first-generation college graduate and a community college alumnus from a low-income immigrant household, Zohaib is very interested in helping students from underprivileged and underrepresented backgrounds access quality college education and providing them with diverse tools and resources necessary for their growth and excellence.
Zohaib is a proud U-M LSA '21 Earth and Environmental Sciences graduate with an Associate in Arts in Environmental Science from the Honors College at Miami Dade College. While at Miami Dade College, he received the President’s Volunteer Service Award and was a STEM Institute for Scholastic Leadership Experience Scholar. As an LSA student, he participated in the U-M Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program, and served as a Research Assistant through the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Zohaib’s diverse academic and professional experiences help him effectively contribute to the College’s mission and vision for transfer students and beyond. Zohaib and his family immigrated to the U.S. from Bangladesh when he was a young teenager. He speaks and is fluent in Bengali (Bangla) and English.
