A.B. Psychology, 1997Attorney, community volunteer and supporter
After earning her BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1997, Jessica Koch received a JD from Brooklyn Law School. Jessica went on to become a litigator in New York City at a prominent law firm, where she focused on Legal Malpractice. She believes her education in LSA not only prepared her for law school, but her psychology background specifically helped her better understand her clients and their needs. In 2004, Jessica married her husband Dana and moved to Palm Beach, Florida where she also became licensed to practice law in Florida. In Florida, she opened her own practice concentrating on Real Estate law. Given her husband’s extensive expertise in real estate, it seemed to be the perfect fit.
Jessica and Dana have two daughters, and, in 2019, Jessica took a pause from practicing law to spend more time with her family. One daughter is currently a junior at the University of Michigan, and her youngest is a high school junior at Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, Florida.
For more than 20 years, Jessica has been very active in various charities and organizations, such as the Alliance for Eating Disorders, the Pink Agenda Supper Club, the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, and the Promise Fund. She is also deeply committed to education, supporting Saint Andrew’s School, the Palm Beach Day Academy, and, of course, the University of Michigan. Jessica and Dana made a pledge to the First-Gen Initiative in LSA. Jessica joined the Dean’s Advisory Council in 2026. In her free time, Jessica enjoys traveling all over the world, spending time with family and friends, and working out.
I am proud of and deeply grateful for the education I received at the University of Michigan, particularly through LSA. I am excited to serve on the DAC because I believe LSA is at the heart of the Michigan experience. Regardless of their major, their college, or their school, every Michigan student will be part of the LSA community, making the college an integral part of the university. Serving on the DAC gives me the opportunity to reconnect with a campus that has meant so much to me while gaining a deeper understanding of the college's priorities and future. As my children have gotten older, I am grateful to have more time to give back to a place that has had such a lasting impact on my life. I look forward to contributing my perspective and supporting LSA's ongoing efforts to expand opportunities and make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and their families.
