Professional Book Club Moderator, Philanthropist, Community Volunteer and Civic Advocate

Hillary Beckman is a Professional Book Club Moderator in New York City, where she leads groups of adult readers in thoughtful discussions of literature, history, current events, and culture. Through careful selection of materials, extensive research, and collaboration with authors, she creates opportunities for lifelong learning and meaningful dialogue among participants.

Prior to her current work, Hillary held leadership positions in both business and education. She served as President and Founder of CoDE, a consulting and retail startup, where she oversaw business development, operations, marketing, and strategic growth. Prior to her role at CoDE, Hillary was COO and Business Director of Dynamic Diamond Corp. where she diversified Dynamic’s business strategy and created their retail brand. Earlier in her career, she worked in real estate acquisitions and finance and later became a teacher and educational leader in New York City and on Long Island.  Hillary holds a Master's of Education and pursued a Certification in Educational Administration from Hunter College.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Hillary is deeply committed to philanthropy, service, and civic engagement. She serves on the Mount Sinai Auxiliary Board, the American Jewish Committee Women’s Leadership Board, and the University of Michigan LSA Dean’s Advisory Council, and volunteers at Mount Sinai Hospital. She and her family are proud supporters of the University of Michigan.

Hillary credits her LSA education with fostering the intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and communication skills that have guided her diverse professional and volunteer endeavors. Her connection to Michigan remains a family tradition: her son, Zachary, is a student in the Ross School of Business, and her daughter, Zoe, will be entering LSA this fall.

Outside of work and volunteer service, Hillary enjoys reading, running, traveling, animal rescue, and returning to Ann Arbor whenever possible.
