Chris Cramer is an accomplished business leader and board member with more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across retail, consumer, and digital commerce. He has served as CEO, COO, and CFO of public and private-equity-backed companies, with expertise spanning strategy, financial stewardship, organizational leadership, transformation, and governance.
Most recently, he served as CEO and Board Member of Claire’s, where he led the company through a significant period of transformation and strategic change. Previously, he served as President of Parade and held senior leadership positions at Bath & Body Works, including COO and CFO, where he helped lead the growth and evolution of the business into a nearly $8 billion enterprise.
He has a longstanding commitment to educational, civic, and cultural institutions. Chris serves on the Advisory Board of the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. He is also actively involved in community and philanthropic initiatives in Columbus, Ohio, including serving on the Board of Columbus Jazz, America’s oldest jazz non-profit organization.Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management.
I chose to serve on the Dean’s Advisory Council because I care deeply about the many students who rely on the university, and the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts to expand their minds and open their hearts to more people and more opportunities. I developed into a better person, and a more attractive job candidate after my four years at the University of Michigan. I want to give back, to help future generations of students experience the same.
