Lecturer - Biology
About
Jourdan is a Lecturer in the Comprehensive Studies Program, where she teaches CSP sections of Introductory Biology: Ecology and Evolution (Bio 171) and the new adjunct course of Genetics (Bio 305). A proud Wolverine, Jourdan earned her BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Michigan, completing a thesis in the Department of Human Genetics. She went on to pursue two graduate degrees at U-M: an MPH in Environmental Health Sciences from the School of Public Health and an MS in Ecosystem Science and Management from the School for Environment and Sustainability. Her academic work has centered on evolutionary genetics and the intersections of health and the environment, and she is eager to bring these interdisciplinary insights into her teaching and mentorship.
Outside the classroom, Jourdan enjoys exploring Michigan’s natural beauty with her dog, Aspen, who accompanies her on scenic walks and hikes. With a deep passion for teaching and supporting students, she looks forward to fostering curiosity and a sense of belonging in the CSP community. She is especially excited to help students appreciate how biology connects not only to their studies but also to the living world around them.
