We're excited that you've chosen to attend U-M and join the Summer Bridge Scholars Program and CSP community! There are a number of tasks you will need to complete to secure your spot and ensure you are ready to enroll and start classes this summer.
We will send additional details and reminders to your email throughout the spring.
1. Pay Your Enrollment Deposit
All first-year students accepting their admission to U-M must submit a $300 non-refundable enrollment deposit by the May 1 deadline.
Have concerns about paying? There are options to request an extension or waiver through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This must be done before the May 1 deadline.
2. Apply for Financial Aid
Apply for financial aid by March 1st. You must complete the following:
- 2025-26 FAFSA (U-M code: 002325)
- 2026-27 FAFSA (U-M code: 002325)
- 2026-27 CSS Profile (U-M code: 1839)
More details can be found on the Office of Financial Aid website.
Once you have paid your enrollment deposit and submitted your FASFA, you can log into Wolverine Access and head to the New & Prospective Student Center where you can make sure all necessary documents to recieve your financial aid package are submitted.
In addition, scholarships are available to reduce or eliminate student loans and help cover educational expenses for the summer. Complete the following as soon as possible to see if you qualify.
- Apply for financial aid by completing the 2025-26 FAFSA, 2026-27 FAFSA and CSS Profile (see above for more information)
- 2026 Summer Bridge Scholars Program Scholarship. All incoming Bridge scholars are eligible to apply, not just those admitted to LSA.
Scholars admitted to LSA are also encouraged to apply for the Four-Year Renewable Scholarship!
3. Set Up Your Uniqname and UMICH Email Account
After your enrollment deposit is received or waived, you will receive an email invitation to establish your U-M uniqname and email account. It is important to set up your email account right away as many communications from U-M offices (e.g. Financial Aid, New Student Programs, and Housing) will be sent to your U-M email account.
We encourage you to check your U-M email inbox at least once a week to ensure your are not missing any pertinent information.
4. Submit Your Vaccination Records
All U-M students residing in Michigan Housing on the Ann Arbor campus are required to submit documentation showing whether or not they are vaccinated. This should be submitted ASAP as verification can take up to weeks to finalize and is required in order to receive a housing contract and move into the residential halls.
If you are not vaccinated, you may be asked to submit an attestation stating you are not vaccinated and understand that you may be subject to additional public health protocols should there be a public health need. You can learn more about U-M's vaccination policy here.
5. Apply for Summer and Fall Housing
Housing applications will be released starting in early April if you have paid your enrollment deposit and have a U-M email address. Living on-campus for the summer is required for the Summer Bridge Scholars Program, so you will need to fill out the "Summer Only" housing application. If you plan to live on-campus for the academic year, you will also need to fill out the "Academic Year" housing application. Please visit the U-M Housing website for more information.
6. Register for Orientation
In mid-late April— if you have paid the $300 enrollment deposit or had your enrollment deposit waived— you will receive an email from the Office of New Student Programs to register for their academic advising date. This orientation will be virtual and take place in early June. Please note that in addition to this ONSP orientation, you will also attend an in-person orientation for the Summer Bridge Scholars Program June 27th - June 30th, 2026.
There are a number of tasks that you will need to complete to help your advisor learn important information about you. These will be sent to your U-M email. Please pay careful attention and complete all tasks so you are prepared for your advising and registration appointment.
