Aurelia Braguta

Aurelia Braguta is an associate professor of business administration at the State University of Moldova and Academy of Economic Studies in Chisinau. Professor Braguta completed her Ph.D. at the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, in 2001 and earned two additional master’s degrees in political management and European studies at the Ovidiu Sincai Post-Graduate School of Academic Studies in Bucharest and the European Institute of Political Studies in Chisinau, respectively. Professor Braguta will spend three weeks at U-M in November 2014, where she will work on a project exploring the impact of social entrepreneurship on community development. Her host advisor is George Siedel, Williamson Family Professor of Business Administration and Thurnau Professor of Business Law.
Marta Brkovic

Marta Brkovic is a teaching and research associate at Union University Nikola Tesla in Belgrade, Serbia, where she specializes in architecture. In addition to working as an architect at M-House Design in Belgrade, she is the founding director of an NGO, ARQubator. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Sheffield (UK) in 2013. In 2009, she completed her master’s degree in architecture at Varna Free University in Bulgaria and was a 2007 Erasmus Programme exchange student to Lausitz University of Applied Sciences in Cottbus, Germany. Professor Brkovic will visit U-M for three weeks in September 2014 to complete research on a project entitled, “Research and Design Methods in Architecture Schools,” in cooperation with Linda Groat, professor of architecture and women’s studies.
Miso Dokmanovic

Miso Dokmanovic is an assistant professor at the Cyril & Methodius University in Macedonia, where he completed his bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in law, graduating in 2010. He also completed an M.A. in diplomacy at the University of Malta in 2006. Professor Dokmanovic teaches courses on the history of law and U.S. foreign policy in the Balkans. Additionally, he serves as president of the Board of Executives at the Institute for Strategic Research and Education in Skopje. Professor Dokmanovic will spend three weeks at U-M in April 2014 working on a project entitled, “U.S. Foreign Policy Decision Making Process and the Balkans,” in collaboration with his U-M host advisor, Willam Clark, professor of political science and director of the Program in International and Comparative Studies.
Maia Mestvirishvili

Maia Mestvirishvili is associate professor of psychology at Tbilisi State University in Georgia. Dr. Mestvirishvili received her Ph.D. from Tbilisi State University in 2004. She has completed post-doctoral fellowships at Columbia University; the Catholic University of Leuven (Germany); the University of California, Berkeley; and the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). In her research, she focuses on social psychology, and frequently shares her expertise on this topic at conferences and trainings and in publications. While at U-M for four weeks in September 2014, she will explore the topic, “Antecedents and Consequences of Rejection Sensitivity in Youth.” Her U-M host advisor is Ethan Kross, associate professor in psychology and director of the U-M Emotion and Self-Control Laboratory.
Marija Milenkovska

Marija Milenkovska is assistant professor of international law at St. Kliment Ohridski University in Macedonia. Professor Milenkovska attended Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia for undergraduate and graduate degrees in law, completing her doctorate in 2011. Her professional interests include public international law, human rights, conflict resolution, and international humanitarian law. She has participated in a number of conferences, working groups, and academic programs, including sessions at Leiden University, the European University Institute, and the European Inter-University Center of Human Rights and Democratisation. Professor Milenkovska will spend four weeks at U-M in September 2014, where she will work on a project entitled, “War Crimes Prosecution in the Republic of Macedonia.” Her host advisor is Steven Ratner, Bruno Simma Collegiate Professor of Law.
Selma Raljevic
Weiser Professional Development Fellow, 2014
Selma Raljevic is an assistant professor in literature at Dzemal Bijedic University, in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dr. Raljevic completed her doctorate in comparative literature in 2013 at Sarajevo University. During her academic career, she has focused on American, English, and Bosnian and Herzegovinian literatures, and has studied abroad in Scotland, Germany, the U.S. and Egypt. She has also organized lectures and conferences in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo. Prior to her graduate study, she worked as a journalist in radio and print. During her four-week stay at U-M in April 2014, Dr. Raljevic will collaborate with her host advisor, Tatjana Aleksic, associate professor of comparative literature and Slavic languages and literatures, on an exploration of American teaching procedures, educational methods, and methodology.
Danylo Sudyn

Danylo Sudyn is an assistant professor of sociology at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in Ukraine. He received his doctorate from Kharkiv V. N. Karazin National University in 2011. Research interests include national identity, national myths, collective memory, sociological theory, statistical methods of data analysis, and multivariate data analysis. Sudyn will attend the Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research at U-M in July–August, 2014.
Eugeniy Trushliakov

Eugeniy Trushliakov is a professor and vice-rector at Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding in Ukraine, where he received his doctorate in 1994. He previously visited U-M in 1998-99 as a Fulbright Scholar. He is the author or co-author of more than 80 publications in various fields (life support systems and air conditioning engineering, ecology and environment protection, renewable energy sources, methodology of higher education, etc.), including textbooks for university students. Professor Trushliakov will spend four weeks at U-M in April-May 2014 working on a plan for “The Experimental Research of VIVACE Converter Model.” His U-M host advisor is Michael Bernitsas, professor of mechanical engineering and Mortimer E. Cooley Collegiate Professor of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
Archil Zhorzholiani
Weiser Professional Development Fellow, 2014
Archil Zhorzholiani is a lecturer in social and political science at Tbilisi State University in Georgia and a program advisor in international development and management at the German International Development Cooperation. He has previously held leadership positions at several other international organizations, and completed an internship with the United Nations World Food Programme in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He earned degrees at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs and Lund University (Sweden) in international politics and international development and management, respectively. His faculty partner at U-M will be John Jackson, M. Kent Jennings Collegiate Professor in Political Science. They will collaborate on the project, “Optimal Administrative-Territorial Structure for Encouraging Public Participation in Georgia” for three weeks in March-April 2014.
