Summer 2026 Workshop

(May 2026 - Bratislava, Slovakia) As civil society across Central, Southern, and Eastern Europe is increasingly targeted, WCEE offered the training to 22 participants from 13 countries — Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine (additional spots for Ukrainian NGO leaders were made possible by a gift from Marysia Ostafin). Participants learned best practices from experts on topics including adaptive change management, strategic negotiation for partnerships and funding, and resilience under pressure. The workshop also featured a special conversation on “Courage in Public Life” between former President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová and WCEE Director Geneviève Zubrzycki.
