The Program in International and Comparative Studies (PICS) is thrilled to announce that Dr. Greta Uehling was recognized with the new title Teaching Professor.
After many years of outstanding teaching and mentoring of students and to recognize her role and contributions to International Studies at LSA and the University of Michigan, Dr. Greta Uehling was recognized with the new title, Teaching Professor.
Dr. Uehling has taught in PICS, home of the LSA undergraduate major and minor in International Studies, since the inception of the major 12 years ago. She has been a Golden Apple Award nominee every year since 2016 in part for teaching very large courses in International Studies, such as the radically interdisciplinary and globe-spanning INTLSTD 101 Introduction to International Studies, for which she wrote one of the new field’s first textbooks.
As Professor Franzese wrote in his nomination, “She also teaches numerous, diverse advanced INTLSTD 401s at the same consistently superior quality of pedagogy. The title of Teaching Professor could not be more apt, more deeply merited, and better earned.”
The Program congratulates Greta on her achievements and wishes her continued success.
